PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Richard E. Haskin is a partner with the firm. Mr. Haskin has a lengthy and impressive history as a litigator in business, commercial, construction, real estate, and general liability matters in both California and Nevada federal and state courts. Mr. Haskin has tried several cases in addition to handling matters through appeal in both California and Nevada.  In 2008, Mr. Haskin successfully argued first impression and critical procedural matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, resulting in a published opinion that is persistently cited for the precedent set therein. (Nationwide Life Ins. Co. v. Angelina Richards, et al., 541 F.3d 903 (9th Cir. 2008)). In 2017, Mr. Haskin chiefly litigated a series of related cases involving a complex and criminal scheme wherein Mr. Haskin represented a large homeowners association against law firms, attorneys, general contractors, community managers, and various other conspirators.  In a case that gained notoriety throughout the nation, Mr. Haskin was able to achieve substantial settlements and judgments totaling nearly $30,000,000.  Mr. Haskin has also litigated numerous shareholder and partners disputes in connection with law firms, medical corporations, management companies and various other service providers.

His transactional health care practice concentrates on all phases and legal aspects related to the formation, development, syndication, construction and operation of outpatient surgery centers and private medical practices. Mr. Haskin counsels outpatient surgery centers, medical clinics, private medical practices, and physicians. Mr. Haskin often serves as outside general counsel, serving client needs with respect to formation, management, regulation, compliance, and employment.
