Community Services

Gibbs, Giden, Locher, Turner & Senet LLP honors the local community by partnering with organizations in sponsorship and support of select youth, health, human services and cultural programs. Below is a list of recent events we have supported or participated in:

Food From the Bar, May 14, 2011:
Launched by the LA Regional Food Bank, LACBA, Women Lawyers’ Association of Los Angeles, and the Food From the Bar Steering Committee, this food drive helps the legal community fight hunger in Los Angeles.  The 76 law firms that participated this year raised $315,000 in donations and collected 10,500 pounds of food between April 18 and May 16. Our firm helped to collect food for the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and were made a Bronze Partner this year for our support.

P.A.T.H. (People Assisting the Homeless) Men’s Clothing Drive, January 31, 2011:
Our Los Angeles office collected Men’s clothing and donated several bags of gently used jackets, t-shirts, sweats, sweatshirts, socks and business clothing to P.A.T.H.

GLA/ALA 5K Justice Jog, October 17, 2010:
The firm sponsored 10 runners from our firm.  Each year Greater Los Angeles/Association of Legal Administrators ("GLA/LA") donates the net proceeds from the Justice Jog to an organization in need. We have been a proud sponsor for three years, and most recently the proceeds from the October 2010 walk (over $5,000) were donated to “Shoes that Fit”, an organization that is dedicated to bringing the basic needs of shoes to children.

In 2009, the Justice Jog event proceeds were donated to, "A Place Called Home" (www.apch.org). They provide at-risk youth with a secure, positive family environment where they can regain hope and belief, earn trust and self-respect and learn skills to lead to a productive lifestyle free of the gangs, drugs and poverty that surround them. They help inner city youth find their dreams through educational enrichment.

Anthony in Venice, August 9, 2010:

Our firm took a food/clothing donation for Anthony in Venice, to help feed and clothe the homeless in Venice Beach. We were able to donate a palate full of food and gently used clothing.

LACBA Barristers Annual Foster Children Backpack Drive, July 31, 2010:
We donated 16 backpacks along with supplies to fill them. The backpacks were donated with more than 100 others to the Children’s Law Center of Los Angeles to help children in foster care.
